2015 IPC Athletics Grand Prix gets underway in Dubai

The 2015 IPC Athletics Grand Prix gets underway this weekend at the 7th Fazaa International Athletics Competition in Dubai, UAE.


Over 450 of the best para-athletes in the world will line up on the start line in Dubai over the next few days hoping to get the 2015 season off to a flyer ahead of the IPC Athletics World Championships in October.

Last season the meeting was a huge success with seven world records and 22 regional records being broken.

on the track, Great Britain’s Hannah Cockcroft is favourite to take the 100m,200m and 400m Wheelchair Race in the T34 Category.

Marlou van Rhjin lines up on the T44 100m and 200m Start line with Sophie Kamlish as they repeat their 2012 London Final

Erin McBride is starting her season with a 400m after she won Gold in the T13 100m at the European Championships in Swansea in 2014


over in the field, London 2012 F37 Discus Bronze medalist Beverley Jones starts her competitive season with the Discus and Shot Put along with Holly Neil F41

in the 397g Club Throw, Joanna Butterfield F51, looks to get her season off to a flyer with a good showing after her storming summer where she won a gold in the European Championships in her first year of competition.
