2015: The year ahead in wheelchair tennis

With the 2016 Paralympics coming up, 2015 is a year for player to get experience and qualify for the Games. Points and ranking play a major role in Paralympic qualifying.

January

  • NZ Wheelchair Tennis Open takes play from January 2 – 5 at the Albany Tennis Centre on Oteha Valley Road.
  • Sydney International Wheelchair Tennis Open takes place from January 13 – 17 in Australia.
  • Tennis Clinic takes place every third Sunday of the month at City Community Tennis, Prince Alfred Park, 103 Chalmers Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 from  12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

February

  •  Tennis Clinic takes place every third Sunday of the month at City Community Tennis, Prince Alfred Park, 103 Chalmers Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 from  12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

March

  • Tennis Clinic takes place every third Sunday of the month at City Community Tennis, Prince Alfred Park, 103 Chalmers Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 from  12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

April

  • Tennis Clinic takes place every third Sunday of the month at City Community Tennis, Prince Alfred Park, 103 Chalmers Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 from  12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
  • The New Zealand Junior Disability Games take place from April 10 – 12 at  St Peter’s College, Cambridge.Sports on the program include ambulant football, athletics, blind cricket, boccia, cycling, equestrian, goalball, powerchair football, rowing, swimming, triathlon, waka ama, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.

May

  • Tennis Clinic takes place every third Sunday of the month at City Community Tennis, Prince Alfred Park, 103 Chalmers Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 from  12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

June

  • From June 3 – 5, French Open wheelchair tennis takes place in Paris.
  • Tennis Clinic takes place every third Sunday of the month at City Community Tennis, Prince Alfred Park, 103 Chalmers Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 from  12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

July

  • From July 10 – 12, the Wimbledon wheelchair doubles tournament takes place.
  • From July 14 – 19, British Open Wheelchair Tennis, Nottingham takes place.
  • Tennis Clinic takes place every third Sunday of the month at City Community Tennis, Prince Alfred Park, 103 Chalmers Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 from  12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

August

  • From August 7 – 15, the Para Pan American Games take place in Toronto. Archery, athletics, boccia, cycling, football 5-a-side, football 7-a-side, goalball, judo, powerlifting, sitting volleyball, swimming, table tennis, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby and wheelchiar tennis are all on the program.

September
