31 national records set at Italian winter indoor athletics championship

On Monday, the Italian national winter indoor athletic championships were held in Ancona, and the day saw 31 national records set.  Most of the records were set by members affiliated with two federations, 18 from  Federazione Italiana Sport Paralimpici e Sperimentalii and Federazione Italiana Sport Disabilità Intellettiva Relazionale.



Among the record holders was Fabio Bianchi, who had a national record of 11.37 in the T13 men’s 60 meter event. Luca Campeotto, who belongs to Atletica 2000, set a national record in the T43 men’s 60 meter event with a time of 9:56. Another national record setter was Cristian Bonaccina of Gsh Sempione 82 who set a men’s T37 record in the 400 meters with a time of 1:12.67.  Teammate Gianfilippo Mirabile also set a national record in the men’s T44 1500 meter event with a time of 5:31.85, over a minute faster than the previous national record.


220 athletes competed in the event, equaling a participation record set at the event last year.
