ADISAMP wins Peru men’s national wheelchair basketball championships

This weekend in Huancayo, ADISAMP won Peru men’s national wheelchair basketball championships. Puente Piedra were crowned sub-champions.  Pablo Zavala finished third.

ADISAMP defeated Puente Pierda 24 – 13 in the championship game. ADISAMP qualified for the final after defeating Chicago Star 48 – 22 in the semi-final. Puente Pierda qualified after defeating Pablo Zavala  26 – 21. In the bronze medal match, Pablo Zavala defeated Chicago Star 35 – 26.

 

Earlier in the competition, ADISAMP and Pablo Zavala were in the same group, and when they met ADISAMP  won 28 – 20. In the same group, Corazones Valientes de Chiclayo beating Huancayo 26 – 15.   Pablo Zavala also beat  Corazones Valientes 26 – 17.

 

The other group included Puente Piedra and Sentir del la Alegría.  Puente Piedra defeated Sentir del la Alegría 40 – 35, in one of the hardest fought games of the competition.   Puente Pierda beat Sport Ayacucho 29 – 27.    Puente Piedra beat Corazón y Pura Fibra 30 – 28. Chicago Star beat Corazón y Pura Fibra 25 – 16.   El Sentir came from behind to defeat Chicago Star 34 – 29.
