Argentina women’s wheelchair basketball team beat Colombia to qualify 2015 Para Panamerican Games

Last night in Cali, Colombia, Argentina women’s wheelchair basketball team beat Colombia to qualify 2015 Para Panamerican Games by insuring them a top two finish.  The final score of the game was 49 – 16.  The top three finishers in the four team deep competition qualified for Toronto.

Later today 7:15 PM local time, Argentina will play Brazil for the championships of the tournament.  In round robin play, Argentina lost  to Brazil 15 – 47.

 

The Argentina team includes María Castaldi, Alejandra Alonso, María Chirinos, Monica Chazarreta, María Coronel, Silvia Linari, Mariana Capdeville, Julieta Olmedo, María Pallares, Mariana Perez, Adriana Motura, Marcela Birck. They are coached by Carlos Cardarlli.

 

The Colombian roster includes Evelin Serna, Magda Victoria, Rusmalia Sepulveda, Luz Muñoz, Johan Moreno, Gloria Morales, Yolanda Montero, Luisa Martínez, Sandra Henao, Marley Gutierrez, Gladys Gomez and Luz Cortez.
