Yesterday, Argentinian Deaflympics delegate Fabian Roberto Dotto died in Russia. Dotto had traveled to Ugra, Russia to attend the 45th Congress of the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf. He was 49-years-old.
Deaflympics said, “The ICSD and Organizing Committee sends condolences to the family and friends of ICSD Delegate, Fabian Roberto Dotto. […] The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf and the Organizing Committee of the XVIII Winter Deaflympics send their condolences to family and friends of Fabian Roberto Dotto. We are mourning with you.”
In August 2014, Dotto was elected the Treasurer of Executive Committee of the Confederación Argentina Deportiva de Sordos. Dotto was also active in the deaf sports as a participant. In 1989, he competed at the 9th edition of the Campeonato Metropolitano de Voleibol de Sordomudos in Buenos Aires for the Asociación de Sordomudos de Ayuda Mutua team. He competed again in 1990 and 1991. In 1992, the competition became the national championships, and he continued to participate for several years. In 1994, he work with the Argentine men’s national volleyball side at the Juegos Panamericanos de Atletas Sordos in 1995 where he served as the Aguatero.
