Austrian team arrives in Czech Republic ahead of IWRF European Championship – Division B

This morning, the Austrian national wheelchair rugby team arrived in Czech Republic ahead of IWRF European Championship – Division B, with the competition officially scheduled to get underway tomorrow when the opening ceremony takes place and followed by the Czech Republic taking on Ireland.



The team is scheduled to have a practice later today at 4:00 PM local time and a 9:00 AM practice tomorrow morning.  Their first scheduled match is on Tuesday when they play France at 1:00 PM local time.


Austria is in Group A with France, Ireland and Italy.  They are currently ranked 15th in the world, while France is ranked 9th, Ireland is ranked 23rd and Italy is ranked 16th.  The Austrian roster includes Jochen Haller,  Alois Weiss, Isudin Ramic, David Kühhas,  Andreas Jurik, Peter Schloffer, Roman Zechmeister and Rene Hernesz.
