Last night at the 2015 IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport Serbian Open Championships, Vienna Rolli-Dancedream’s Brigitte Kröll and  Werner Kaiser won gold in the Latin Class 2 event. The couple are scheduled to compete in the duo Latin and standard class 2 events at this competition.

Both took up the sport in 2010, after originally having competed on the club level in wheelchair basketball.  When Kröll considered making the switch, she asked Kaiser if he would consider trying it with her.   She might have taken up the sport earlier, but it was not offered in her city before that.  Last season, the pair finished with a ranking of the top 5 in the world.  They have limited experience at the World Championships, only having competed in 2013, where they finished seventh in the standard class 2 event, and tenth in the Latin Class 2 event.

The event wraps up later today.  Dancers from Austria, Slovenia, Ukraine and Russia  are all taking part.
