Earlier this week, the Centroamericano de Comités Paralímpicos met for the third time in its history in Managua, Nicaragua.  Countries with representatives at the meeting included Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Panama, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.

On of the items for discussion was the El Salvador hosted Torneo de Atletismo Paralímpico scheduled to take place from June 18 – 20 at the Estadio Nacional Jorge Magico Gonzalez.  The competition is a qualifying for the 2015 Parapan American Games in Toronto later in the year.

Centroamericano de Comités Paralímpicos was created last year, and had their first meeting in Managua in June with the presidents of the regional National Paralympic Committees to draft statues and bylaws for the new organization.  The purpose of the organization was to create more regular opportunities for sporting contacts regionally.
