China’s Daqing Zhu wins women’s T12 400m T12 final in Dubai

Earlier today at the 2016 IPC Athletics Asia-Oceania Championships in Dubai, China’s T12 Daqing Zhu won the women’s T12 400m T12 final in a time of 59.37 after beating countrywoman T11 Yan Chen who finished in a time of 1:01.27.



Chen’s time is faster than the 2016 Paralympics A-Qualifying time she set last April of 1:02.89 in Beijing. Zhu’s time met the 2016 Paralympics A-Qualifying time, and makes her the third Chinese woman to set a time in this class and event.  Yaqin Shen set an A-Qualifying time of 0:59.35 at last year’s world championships. Yuqin Wang set a B-Qualifying time of 1:02.68 at a race in Beijing last April.


Both Zhu and Chen will square off against in the women’s T11/T12 100 and 200 meter events.
