Obiturary: Costa Rican swimmer José Ramón Campos Vargas dies

Costa Rican swimmer José Ramón Campos Vargas died on Friday.

Campos was an active swimmer, representing CAIPAD APAMAR de Zarcero in many national competitions affiliated with Olimpiadas Especiales Costa Rica  and the Special Olympics movement.  He often came away a winner.


On Facebook, he was remembered by Fio Rodríguez, who said, “It is a big loss for my team and we will compete the same without him…  We went…  But it he closed the year with swimming…  doing what he enjoyed the most…”
Olimpiadas Especiales Costa Rica supports about 32000 sportspeople inside the country.  They organize a number of competitions, include the Nacionales Olimpiadas Especiales Costa Rica, with the most recent edition wrapping up in November.
