Dach de Santiago win Chilean national wheelchair basketball championship

This weekend at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico de Ñuñoa in Chile, Dach de Santiago won the Chilean national wheelchair basketball championship after defeating Alpos 46 – 38 in the final in a game that ended in a 37 – 37 draw at the end of regulation time.



Alpos led the game with less than a minute left in regulation, but Dach de Santiago’s  Rodrigo Osorio managed to sink two points and steal certain victory. In extra time, Osorio scored three two-pointers, Amaury Urrutia scored a two pointer,  and Darío Ortíz made a free throw to give the side an insurmountable lead.


Dital de Talcahuano finished in third place, after defeating Los Dominicos de Santiago 51 – 45 in the third place match.  Other teams participating in the competition included Zurich de Lota and Gran Bulls de Concepción.


The championship was organized by Comité Paralímpico de Chile.
