Earlier today, Deutscher Rollstuhl-Sportverband e.V. reaffirmed on Facebook their stance against racism in response to recent events in the news.

`

Their statement said, “Given the events of the last few days and weeks we would hereby again clearly to express, that the German wheelchair sport Association strongly condemns any form of racism, discrimination and exclusion on and in our social media platforms is no place for Brown, extreme and contemptuous thought of whatsoever!  Those who don’t like this policy must distance themseles from the DRS – we can dispense with best conscience on xenophobic and racist Facebook “Friends”!”

They received comments, shares and likes from around the world and nationally supporting their stance, including the United States, Brazil and Rollstuhlfechten.

Deutscher Rollstuhl-Sportverband e.V.’s original statement was published on the International Day Against Racism, March 21, 2014.  At the time, they highlighted the fact that some people with disabilities in Germany had people make the Nazi salute at them.
