DGS über Deaflympics team departs Frankfurt for deaf tennis’s Dresse and Maere Cup

Early this morning, the German national deaf tennis team departed Frankfurt for New City and onwards to Chattanooga, Tennessee. They are scheduled to compete in deaf tennis’s Dresse and Maere Cup competition being held from July 14 to 18 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The team has not published an official team list of whom is competing, other than Heike Albrecht. The Selhausen local, Silberne Lorbeerblatt recipient and 2013 Summer Deaflympics gold medalist the women’s singles and mixed doubles was unable to travel with the team because of exams. She is scheduled to leave later.

Dresse and Maere Cup is billed by organizers as an opportunity for young deaf to gain international experience in advance of the 2017 Summer Deaflympics.
