With the second full day of competition wrapped up at the IBSA Blind Football World Championships, favorites to win it all Brazil and Argentina have emerged victorious.

Brazil defeated Turkey 1 – 0 in Group B play.  Turkey had several scoring opportunities including a pair of penalties at 8 meters out, but they were unable to capitalize on these. In Group C, Argentina defeated Spain 1 – 0.  Fraulán Padillo scored Argentina’s lone goal. In other games, China defeated Colombia 1 – 0.  Their lone goal was scored in the first half.  South Korea and Germany are still to play later today.

So far, the competition has been a low scoring affair.  The first day was full of surprises, but after those games, the expected top teams performed more or less as expected.
