First day of competition wraps up at Lapp Cup Zlín 2014

The first day of competition in sledge hockey’s the Lapp Cup Zlín 2014 wrapped up yesterday in the Czech Republic. So far, with several games completed, only one score has been reported by organizers: FIFH Malmö defeated Bremer Pirates 5 – 1.



For a number of teams, including Germany’s Bremer Pirates (Weserstars Bremen), the competition is an important part of their preseason. Their squad in the competition includes Bas Disveld, André Theilig, Frank Rennhack, Jacob Wolff, Thorben Böhm, Klaus Brzoska, Simon Kunst, Ingo Kuli-Lauenstein, and Jörg Wedde.


Group play concludes today before moving on to the placement rounds. Gangwon Bears are scheduled to take on Carinthian Steelers. The South Tyrol Eagles are scheduled to play the Bremer Pirates- SHK Lapp Zlín are scheduled to play Russia White. In the last game of group play, FIFH Malmö are scheduled to play Russia Red.
