Founding President of the Palestinian Paralympic Committee Khadr Subhi Abu Sabih dies

Flag of Palestine Flag of Palestine reported yesterday that the founding President of the Palestinian Paralympic Committee  Khadr Subhi Abu Sabih died last Friday.

In 1993, Khadr Subhi Abu Sabih was involved in establishment of the Palestinian Disabled Sports Federation, the Palestine Paralympic Committee’s forebearer.  He served as the President of both organizations until 2003, when he left Palestine to emigrate to Australia. Khadr Subhi Abu Sabih was a graduate of the University of Jordan, where he earned a degree in physical education.

The Palestinian Paralympic Committee has faced some challenges and losses of late.  In January 2014, long time President Akram Okkeh died. In November 2012, the PPC headquarters were destroyed as a result of shelling that hit the building and infrastructure.
