Earlier today, France named their men’s national  5-a-side football team for their upcoming 2015 European Championship campaign.

Field players selected draw heavily from AS CéCifoot Saint-Mandé with Hakim Arezki, Yvan Wouandji, Martin Baron, Fabrice Morgado and Gaël Riviere all making the team, along with goalkeeper Samir Gassama. Toulouse Football CéCifoot is represented by two field players, David Labarre and Arnaud Ayax.  The two remaining members selected for the team included Jérôme Penisson  who plays for Don Bosco CéCifoot Nantes and goalkeeper Aimen Azouzi who plays for AVH Paris.   They are coached by  Lucas Ignatowicz.

All of the field players  are returning to the team from last year’s IBSA World Championships in South Korea where France finished a disappointing ninth after beating South Korea 2 – 1 in the 9th/10th place placement match.  They had won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Gazouzi is the only left off  the squad from that team. Hakim Arezki,  Gaël Riviere , Arnaud Ayax are the team’s new blood.
