France national powerchair football team wins EPFA Nations Cup

This afternoon, the French national powerchair football team defeated England 5 – 0 to win the EPFA Nations Cup in Limerick, Ireland.  The French side led 2 – 0 at the half.



Tournament leading scorer Mohamed Ghelami added one goal to finish with a tournament leading nineteen goals. Bryan Weiss contributed a pair of goals in the French victory to finish the competition with fifteen. Tristan Delmas and  Julien Reniers also each contributed a goal on the way to victory. Ghelami  was named the player of the match for France, while Charlie Kitcher got the same honor for England.


Belgium won the third – fourth place match 3 – 1 in  penalty kicks, after Belgium and Ireland ended regulation play tied at 0 – 0. Belgian players Quentin Campion  and Freddy Lemaire both picked up yellow cards in their game. Tiffany Paquet was Belgium’s player of the match, while Aoife Mcnicholl was Ireland’s.
