Georgia readies 5-a-side football team to compete at IBSA World Games

The Georgian national 5-a-side football team at practice. Image credit: is reporting that the Georgian Paralympic Committee is supporting a national 5-a-side football team that will be ready to compete at the IBSA World Games in May in Seoul, South Korea.


The team is scheduled to play a demonstration game today at 14:00 local time.  The event has been organized by the  Georgian Football Federation and the Georgian Paralympic Committee.  The competition would be the first for Georgia who have played few, if any, international matches in their history.


In other sporting news, arm wrestler Beso Lekiashvili (ბესო ლეკიაშვილი ) was named the Disability Sportsperson of the Year by at an award ceremony held earlier this week.  It was his second time winning it, as he won the award last year.
