Ghana Paralympic Committee to hold stake holders meeting as part of strategic plan to initiate an outreach program targeted at various stakeholders in the paralympic sports sector. According to the General Secretary of the GPC Ignatius Elletey there are plans to introduce other sports disciplines to enable Ghana wins its first Paralympic medal at the upcoming 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.
The statement says targeted stake holders are Financial cooperate entities, non-govermental organizations and schools with disability interest such us the Mampong school for the deaf ,Dzowulu special home ,Akropong school for the blind and the others.
The immediate target is to make sure more para athletes make it to the 11 edition of the All African Games in Congo Brazzaville in September.
Meanwhile the president of the GPC Cornelius Adja Cofie has hinted that, the deaf team and the blind team will be given special attention since they have the potential to qualifier for the Paralympic Games in Brazil.
