Goalball Vereniging Waalwijk starts training for the upcoming Dutch season

Last night, the Netherlands goalball team Goalball Vereniging Waalwijk started training in Waalwijk at Juliana van Stolbergschool for the upcoming national league season.  The team had new goalball mats courtesy of the national association.  They did some conditioning during their practice.



Waalwijk 1 finished third in last year’s Competitie Optelec League season, with 30 points in 15 games.  They scored 114 points during the season and 92 goals scored against them.  In the second division, the Waalwijk 2 finished fourth with 9 points in six games, scoring 48 points while the opposition scored 44 against them.


Team 1 includes Marcel van Beijnen, Sebastiaan Hermans, Jeroen Meijer and Pascal Wirken. They are coached by Rabin den Hoed. Team 2 includes Carlo Klijsen, Bianca Stokkingreef, Rick Sermeus, Ingrid Cranes, Adriaan Vugts and Kim Vugts while being coached by William Vugts.


The Dutch national A season officially kicks off on October 4.
