Gold Coast City PFC leads after first round of Queensland Powerchair Football League

With the first round of the Queensland Powerchair Football League having wrapped up yesterday, Gold Coast City PFC sits at the top of the league table with a win and a draw.  The North Brisbane Jets PFC are second with a pair of draws, and the Brisbane Strikers PFC are last with a draw and two losses.

The season officially kicked off February, with the first game of the season saw the Strikers lose to City 0 – 1, with the games lone goal coming from Mark Warren off an assist from Bryce Castles. The second game between the Jets and Strikers was a 0 – 0 draw.  The third game of the round played yesterday between City and the Jets ended 2 – 2.  Castles scored both goals for City off assists from Warren.  Kevin Pretorius and Tristam Peters scored a pair each for the Jets, with Jack Gillespie picking up a pair of assists.

The Gold Coast City PFC roster this year includes Bryce Castles, Tom Latcham, Jessie McCarthy, Kirk Patrinos and Mark Warren. The North Brisbane Jets PFC squad includes Jack Gillespie, Jeffrey Morrish, Tristram Peters, Kevin Pretorius and Brennan Smoothy.  The Brisbane Strikers PFC team features Zac Burley, Thomas Dickson, Blair Garton, Josh Merkas and Jessie Whittaker.
