Yesterday, Great Britain Deaf Football announced the women’s training team selected for Deaf World Cup 2016. The squad includes Coco Briden, Emma Brown, Alex Bush, Lucy Durham, Fer Evans, Camilla Gaudion, Debbie Hibbett, Rebecca Kemp, Asnath Losala, April Malin, Rachel Mallard, Naomi Myrie, Jodie Newman, Gemma Newson, Sarah Page, Dawn Perry-Lewis, Jessica Pert, Premi Pushpalingham, Gemma Sanders, Claire Stancliffe, Ceara Toal, Mandy Tobin, Victoria Wenman, Caroline Wilcock and Laura Wiseman.

To aid in efforts to fund the team’s participation at the Capaccio, Salerno hosted event in late June, Great Britain Deaf Football was offering sponsorship opportunities for £40, with the sponsors name appearing on the player’s profile on the organization’s website and a personal thank you from the player.  Most of these sponsorship spots were taken within 24 hours of the training team being announced.

Great Britain will also be sending a men’s team to compete at the World Cup, having qualified for the event after finishing third at last year’s European Championships.
