India wins opener against Bangladesh at T20 Asia Cup

With the first day of competition wrapped up at Jawaharalal Nehru International Stadium in India, the home side Indians had a well fought win against Bangladesh.   They scored 278 runs on 20 overs to Bangladesh’s 99 on 9 wickets, to win by 179 runs.


India won the toss for the match, opted to bat first, and put Bangladesh in a position where they were having to chase a high score their whole time at bat. The Indian side had Prakash Jaremmiah  and Ajay Reddy each score an unbeaten century of  144 of 72 balls and 105 of 53 balls, that added to the Bangladeshi challenge.

B3 Indian cricket Prakash Jaremmiah  was named the Man of the Match, with 144 runs, 72 balls and 3 wickets.  He had an outstanding performance on both sies of the wicket. India Ajay Reddy was named the best performer with 2 wickets, 105 runs and 54 balls.

The competition was organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India and Cricket Association for Blind in Kerala.  The final is scheduled for Sunday.
