With two games finished earlier today in Japan, the home team has taken the lead in their group with a 1 – 0 against Paraguay.    In the other game in the group, Paralympic silver medalist France drew new comers Morocco.   The scores give Japan an early lead in group play.

The Japanese win was a bit of a surprise as in the only previous meeting between Paraguay and Japan saw Paraguay win.  Japan also had a losing record this year, having won only one game and performing relatively poorly at the Para Asian Games.   Tomonari Kuroda score for Japan.

In the France – Morocco game, French players Martin Baron and Yvan Wouandji had some good scoring opportunities but were uable to get past the quality play of the Moroccan goalkeeper.

Play in group A continues on Tuesday, with Paraguay playing France at 3:00 AM French local time.
