Luke Bate, Patrick Mawson and Ben Curry win in boccia’s Midlands Regional

Yesterday at boccia’s Midlands Regional at the Lee Westwood Sports Centre in Nottingham, Luke Bate won the BC1 event, Patrick Mawson won the BC2 and Ben Curry won the BC3. Boccia England CEO Paul Chambers was there for award presentation, and gave all the winners their medals.



In the BC1 event, Daniel Wain finished second and Emma Goodchild third.  Only Bate qualified for the national competition. In the BC2 event, Daisy Nash finished second and Amy Darlow finished third.  Mawson and Nash both qualified for the Nationals.  The BC3 event had the deepest field with six competitors.  Rich Amos finished second, Chris Jackson finished third, Debbie Carsberg finished fourth, Munider Singh Hayer finished fifth and Lee Thorpe finished sixth.  All athletes qualified for the Nationals.


The competition continues today with the pairs and team events.  A camera man is present and filming for a new promotional video about boccia.
