Montenegrin class 10 table tennis player Filip Radović is currently in Italy for the Lignano Master Open 2015 as part of his 2016 Paralympic qualifying campaign where he faces a 17 deep field. He was put into Group B, with British, Polish and Brazilian players. He is accompanied at the event by his coach, Nikolaj Lupulesku. The competition got underway yesterday and runs until Sunday.
The top eight ranked male competitors in his class get invitations to Rio, if they have not qualified through the World Championships or a regional qualifier. Radović is currently ranked 122 in the standing event, and 35th in his class with a rating of 1,324.
Last month, Radović finished third in a doubles event in a cadet tournament in the Czech Republic. He partnered with Lithuanian Merdadasom Stankevičiusom at the event. As a 13-year-old, Radović competed at the able-bodied 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships for his country. He was one of the youngest competitors at the event.
