Earlier today, MTV Stuttgart Blindenfußball announced the team for their upcoming 2015 German 5-a-side football league campaign. It includes goalkeepers Fabian Klaputek and Gianmarco Blancone, alongside field players Sven Schwarze, Kurt Klatt,Florian Günther, Alex Fangmann, Mulgheta Russom, Stefan Peters, Vedat Sarikaya, and Lukas Smirek. Jule Söhner is the team’s guide. They will be coached by Uli Pfisterer.

The team’s new additions include goalkeeper Blancone and fielder Schwarze, who was previously a member of the team in 2013 before retiring as a play but continuing to be active in the sport. The fielder with 22 international caps to his name with the German squad came out of retirement to once again play for MTV Stuttgart. Blancone had previously been a goalkeeper for the junior team of VfR Aalen who play in 3 Liga, but retired because of back problems.

Sarikaya is returning to the side following a contentious season last year. One of Germany’s top players, he was suspended from the national team in July for unsportsmanlike conduct in a match in Ilves against the English national team and had to sit out the World Championships. Sarikaya was a key member of the squad, who ruled in the penalty box.   Following his suspension from the national side, MTV Stuttgart coach Ulrich Pfisterer suspended him for the rest of the season.

Russom, Fangmann  and Smirek comes into this season having been a member of the German side at last year’s IBSA Blind Football World Championships.  All three players players were with the MTV Stuttgart side that competed at the Bučovice Blind Football Cup.
