Earlier today, Newcastle Jets Powerchair Football Club squeak past Western Sydney Wanderers Powerchair Team with a 2 – 1 victory in their opening game at Kevin Betts Stadium in Mt Druitt of the 2015 Australian domestic powerchair football season.

Left winger Chris Hastas scored early off an assist from Dimitri Liolio-Davis for the Jets, putting his team ahead 1 – 0.  The Wanders put on a lot of pressure and were able back to tie the game 1  – 1 off a goal by Waite.  The Jets answered back late in the game after capitalizing on a defensive error by the Wanders to put themselves ahead 2 – 1.

Chris Dolovski made his return to the Jets in this game following a two-year hiatus from the sport.  Liolio-Davis is back with the team.  He has represented New South Wales in the national championships and plays center-midfield.

The Jets are back in action for the second round on May 9, when they are scheduled to play the Central Coast Mariners Powerchair Football Club.
