This past week, the Cecilia Arinye was named by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) as an umpire for the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Outside of table tennis, Arinye serves as the Director of Sports at the University of Lagos.
Arinye will be joined in Rio by countryperson John Peters, who was selected to umpire at the Olympic Games. Peters is a long time table tennis umpire, with many years officiating at international competitions.
