With four rounds of Australia’s Junior Boccia League completed on Saturday, the team from Northern Beaches is in the lead with eight points, one point ahead of second place Illawarra. Penrith currently sits in third, while South West is fourth, Newcastle is fifth and Central Coast is sixth.
Northern Beaches has won two rounds and drawn two, accruing 36 total points. Illawarra has won two rounds, drawn one round and lost a round while accruing 24 points. Despite having accrued more total points than Illawarra, Penrith is third with one win and three draws while accruing 27 total points.
Each round includes four matches, with 3 points awarded for winning the round, 1 point for drawing the round, and 0 points for a loss. During a round, each match has the same point totals which determines how many points a team has and total points awarded for the round. Each junior team has a senior boccia player mentor. It is the first year this competition is being held in New South Wales.
The fifth and final round is scheduled to take place on November 22. The first round took place on January 15. The second round took place on April 16. The third round took place on July 2. It is organized by New South Wales Boccia.
