On Saturday in the rain at the Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad, Odisha came away winners of India’s  National Cricket Tournament for Blind in their game against Gujarat and earned their first national crown.

The match was reduced because of the rain to 5 overs for each side in the T20 event. Gujarat won the toss, and opted to bat first.  They put up 53 runs on 7 wickets.  Odisha squeaked in a victory with their winning run being scored on their last ball of the match.  They were assisted in their victory by Sukhram Majhi, who put up 32 of Odisha’s 54 runs.   This performance was good enough to earn him Man of the Match results. Lalprasad Soren bowled for two wickets for Odisha, while Lingraj Routra and Kalia Pradhan had a wicket each for their side.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Odisha’s B2 cricketer Pankaj Bhue was awarded the Man of the Series.
