Paralympisches Schwimmteam NRW team members set to make internationl debut at Danish Open

Several members of the Paralympisches Schwimmteam NRW are scheduled to make their international debut at the 2015 Danish Open for Swimmers with a Disability scheduled to get underway tomorrow in Esbjerg.  These swimmers include  Marie Eckelmann, Fabian Brune, Adam Karas, Damiel Adamicki, Bastian Fontayne and  Hannes Schürmann. According to their club, all swimmers are currently in fine form with no health issues that would impact their performance.



Eckelmann, Brune, Adamicki and Karas are coming into the event with the goal of gaining international experience, and are not expected by their club to be serious medal contenders.  In contrast,  Bastian Fontayne and Hannes Schürmann are going into the competition looking to set qualifying times for the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland in July.


Several countries are sending their national teams, including Norway, Estonia, Slovakia, the Faroe Islands and the Netherlands.   Club from  Brazil, Sweden, Belgium and  Denmark are also sending teams to compete.  All told, there will be 29 teams representing 10 different countries competing.
