Poland defeats Great Britain in first leg of men’s World Deaf Basketball Championship

Earlier today in Lublin, Poland men’s national deaf basketball team defeat Great Britain in the first left of a home – away qualification process for next year’s World Deaf Basketball Championship (WDBC). The score was 109 – 31.



Poland outplayed and outscored Team GB in every quarter.  In the first, the Poles out scored them 22 – 5.  In the second, they outscored them 28 – 6.  In the third, they outscored them 28 – 8.  In the fourth quarter, Team GB had their biggest scoring period but were still outscored 31 – 12.


As Poland and Great Britain were the two lowest ranking teams in Europe, they had to go through qualifying.  The winning team gets a berth at WDBC 2015 in Taiwan.  The return match is scheduled for  February 21, 2015 at 16:30 local time in Leicester, Great Britain.
