Russia and Ireland sole leaders of their groups at European 7-a-side football championships

With four games completed yesterday in Maiai, Portugal as part of the European 7-a-side football championships, Russia and Ireland are now sole leaders of their groups. Ireland defeated the Netherlands 1 – 0. Denmark beat Finland 2 – 1. Russia won 3 – 0 in their match against Scotland. Northern Ireland edged out Germany 1 – 0.



As results currently stand, Russia is first in their group, Scotland is second and Germany is third in Group B. In Group A, Ireland is first, Netherlands is second and Denmark is third. In Group C, Ukraine is first and England is second.


Despite the four games played, the competition’s leading scorer place has not changed. The Netherlands’ Iljas Visker is still in first with seven goals and teammate Peter Kooij is second with 5.


There is only one game scheduled for today, Finland versus Germany at 7:00 PM local time. It can be watched live on the competition’s website.
