Sepúlveda and Cayulef qualify for the finals Open de Melipilla

Later today, world number 122 Jaime Sepúlveda will take on world number 156 Francisco Cayulef in the final of the Open de Melipilla. The competition is the first in Chile in this season’s Campeonatos Nacionales Paralímpicos Salcobrand.


Sepúlveda qualified through to the final after defeating Marcelo Verdejo 6 – 2 and 6 – 1 in semifinal play. Cayulef qualified through after he defeated Wladimir Rodas 6 – 4 and 3 – 2 before Rodas retired.

In the Junior and Open division, Brayan Tapia is scheduled to play Alexander Cataldo in the final scheduled to start at 11:00 AM local time.

Pablo Araya won the Quad division, after going undefeated in his three games. The format for the Quad division consisted only of round robin play as there were only four competitors. Carlos Muñoz finished second in the Quad event.
