With the Sledge Hockey B World Championships scheduled to get underway from March 15 to 21 in Ostersund, Sweden, earlier today on Facebook, Paralympijské Motivačné Centrum published the Slovak men’s national sledge hockey team schedule in preparation for the competition.

Tomorrow, they play Czech club side Olomouc in Olomouc. The team will then be in a training camp from February 12 to 15 in Dolný Kubín, Slovakia. On March 2 and March 3, the Slovaks will play a pair of friendlies against the Czech national team in Kopřivnice, Czech Republic. The team will then be in training camp again in Dolný Kubín from March 5 to March 8.

The Slovaks like to play against the Czech when games can be organized as it gives them an opportunity to compete against one of the elite teams in the world: The Czechs finished fifth at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi.

Recent competitions the Slovaks have participated in include last year’s 2014 Elbag International Sledge Hockey Tourney, where the Slovaks drew 1 – 1 against Sweden’s Malmo Sledgehammers and lost to Russia’s Moscow Region Fenix.

Teams the Slovaks will meet at the B-Pool World Championships include Sweden, South Korea, Great Britain, and Poland.
