With the Malmö Lady and Men Intercup having gotten underway yesterday in Sweden, Spain has has lost three and  only won one game of their first four matches.

In Group A with Greece, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Turkey, Spain opened against Greece.  They won a closely fought game 2 – 1. In their second game, they met Sweden where they went down 3 – 8.  In Spain’s third match, they were crushes 1 – 11 against the Turkish side.  Their most recent game was much closer, but they still lost 6 – 9 to Germany.

The Spanish national squad is still looking to qualify for the 2016 Summer Paralympics, and squad selection for 2015 IBSA World Games in Seoul has yet to be finalized. The team plans to use 2015 IBSA World Games in Seoul as their qualifying path as going through the European Championships is much more difficult as there is much greater depth in Europe than there is in the Americas where there are only really three teams, and Africa which has almost no women’s team.  This tournament was another warm-up event for both European and IBSA World Games.
