Earlier today, the Super European Goalball League announced dates for the upcoming 2015 season.  The season is to kick off on the weekend of September 11 to 13 in Malmö, Sweden.  The second round is scheduled for the weekend of November 6 to 8 in Vilnius, Lithuania.  The final round is scheduled for the weekend of December 4 to 6 in Espoo, Finland.

Three teams are confirmed for the competition, and the organizers are currently looking for three additional club or nationals teams to take part.  The teams are FIFH Malmö from Sweden, Old Power from Finland and Saltinis from Lithuania. Saltinis won the 2013 edition.  Old Power often has many past and present members of the Finnish national team on it.  While FIFH Malmö may be based in Sweden, they often succeed in attracting top Danish club talent to their squad for this competition. Last year’s participating teams included Šaltinis 1, Šaltinis 3, Old Power, FIFH Malmo, Näpäjä, and Šaltinis 2.

The three organizing clubs have been involved with organizing the competition for several years. The purpose of the league is to give the top non-national team European players a chance to more regularly compete against the best players in the region.  The competition is capped at six teams each year, with the three foundation clubs and three invited clubs.
