This article is a series of language learning posts by ParaSport News. The goal is to provide sport fans some very basic sport and Paralympic vocabulary so you can talk with the world about disability sport at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio.
The language is a variety of German found in Austria, Germany and parts of Italy. While mutually intelligible from Standard German in writing, it can be difficult for native speakers to be mutually intelligible in oral form.
Football specific words:
- Schiri – Referee
- Stiama – Forward
- Fuaßboi – Soccer
