This article is a series of language learning posts by ParaSport News. The goal is to provide sport fans some very basic sport and Paralympic vocabulary so you can talk with the world about disability sport at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio.
Bengali, sometimes called Bangla, is spoken in India and Bangladesh by 210 million people. Bangladesh did not send a team to the 2012 Summer Paralympics, and in 2015, the NPCs from India and Bangladesh were both suspended by the International Paralympic Committee. Your chances of running across speakers of this language are thus low despite the large number of speakers.
