Chuvash is part of the Oghur branch in Turkic language family. It is not mutually intelligible with most other Turkic languages, and it uses the Cyrillic script along with four of its own letters. It is spoken by around 1 million people and is native to Chuvashia region of Russia. As Russia has become a major player on the Paralympic seen in the past 20 years, you will probably find at least one or two people who know the language in Rio among members of the Russian delegation.
