Talking the lingo in Rio: Chatting with your new Farsi speaking friends about football

This article is a series of language learning posts by ParaSport News.  The goal is to provide sport fans some very basic sport and Paralympic vocabulary so you can talk with the world about disability sport at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio.

Farsi, also known as Persian and Dari and Tajik, is a language native to Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Russia, Azerbaijan.  There are around 100 million people world wide who have some level of fluency in the language.  Most often associated with Iran, that country has a strong Paralympic tradition with sitting volleyball.  The country is also active in major Asian championships.

General disability words:
