Team USA to take on Sweden women in 2015 World Deaf Basketball Championships quarter finals

Having clinched their place at the top of Group B yesterday at the 2015 World Deaf Basketball Championships in Taiwan, the United States women had to wait for the result of the Sweden versus Israel game to know who they would be playing in the quarter finals.  Sweden won their game 83 – 24.

Rissa Strante Worsel led the Swedes in scoring, amassing an impressive 32 points while pulling down an equally impressive 17 rebounds. Sofia Lindevall put up 18 points for her side to finish second in scoring. Fatima Tebibel was third in scoring for the Swedish side with 10 points. Melihat Dogan was second for her team in rebounding with 9.

Other quarter-final matches for the women’s event include Ukraine versus hosts Chinese Taipei, Italy versus Greece, and top ranked Group A Turkey versus Group B fourth place finisher Lithuania.
