The week ahead in disability sport: July 21 to July 28

The week ahead sees a lot of sport taking place around the world, with something for every sport fan.  It includes everything from the largest multisport event of the year, to world championships, to regional championships, to taster events and national team training camps.

Multisports:

  • The Commonwealth Games kick off in Glasgow on July 23  and run until August 3.

 

7-a-side football

  • The European Championships will be taking place in Maia, Portugal from July 23 until August 2.

Athletics:

  • Athletics is on the program for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.  The Games from  July 23  until August 3.

 

Boccia

  • The Canadian national team is having a Bc1/Bc2 training camp from July 25 to July 27.

 

Cycling:

  • Track cycling is on the program for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.  The Games from  July 23  until August 3.
  • Cycling World Cup is taking place in Segovia, Spain  from July 25 to July 27.

 

Lawn bowls:

  • Lawn bowls is on the program for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.  The Games from  July 23  until August 3.

 

Powerlifting:

  • Powerlifting is on the program for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.  The Games from  July 23  until August 3.

 

Shooting:

Sitting volleyball:

  • The Portsmouth seated volleyball club in England is having a taster day on July 23.

Swimming:

  • Swimming is on the program for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.  The Games from  July 23  until August 3.

 

Wheelchair basketball:

  • The Lords Taverners National is taking place in London, England.  It is a national youth wheelchair basketball championship, with U15 and U17 teams representing their regions of the United Kingdom.  It runs from July 25 to July 27.
  • On July 26, there is a wheelchair basketball exhibition game being played in Puerto Rico.

Wheelchair rugby:

  • The Desert Rugby Scrimmage   is taking place at Pima College, in Tucson, Arizona on July 27.  It is a one day scrimmage for individual players.

 

Wheelchair tennis:

  • The Belgium Open takes place from July 22 to July 26.  The event is part of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.
