Thursday the city of Toronto was buzzing as TORONTO2015 officially marked the 1 year countdown to the ParaPan Am Games, which will take place from August 7th to 14 next year across Southern Ontario – Canada’s most populous region.
The Games will see over 1,500 athletes make their way to Canada’s largest athletes to compete in several events including Wheelchair Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, Goalball & Track & Field.
To mark the occasion, the TO2015 ParaPan Am organizing committee released a promotional video for the games which was seen across the internet and many mainstream media outlets, had Canadian Paralympic athletesss doing interviews across the city & even some saw some of Canada’s athletes mixing it up with some professionals.
Major League Baseball’s Toronto Blue Jays invited Canadian Paralympian Jaye Milley to throw out the first pitch before their game vs the Baltimore Orioles. Several other Paralympic athletes including Patrick Anderson, Jillian MacSween & Melanie Hawtin were also in attendance at the game to mark the occasion.
