Toronto set to test goalball venue ahead of ParaPan Ams

Four teams are set to compete at the 2014 Toronto Goalball Invitational this weekend in Toronto, Canada. This is the official test event for the TORONTO2015 ParaPan Games schedule for next August.


The ParaPan Am Games are going to be spread across the Greater Toronto Area & Southern Ontario (Canada’s most populous region) and each sport is required to test their venue at their assigned venue to make sure everything is set to run smoothly come games time next summer.


For goalball, this venue is the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, a suburb just wet of Toronto’s downtown. The arena, normally a hockey rink, has already begun it’s changeover from ice to hardwood for the weekend’s event.

Team’s competing include Nova Scotia, Ontario, Alberta & Michigan. The field includes some great talent featuring former Junior National Champions, National Champions along with National Team members & Paralympians.

Games begin at 2:30pmET on Friday August 1tth and run all weekend with a gold medal match scheduled for 12:30pmET on Sunday. Spectators are encourage to enter Hershey Centre through Gate D on the south side of the arena. Admission is free.
