The camp included endurance and resistance training on the beach at Akcakoca Milli Takimlar Kampı. Esra Zeynep Ergincan, Mehmet Barış Ural, Barış Kılıçkaya, and Kemal Özer were amongst the team members participating in the camp. The team also spent time training in the gym and on the badminton court.

Turkey has not traditionally done well at the event. In the previous five times the event has been held, Turkey has only participated twice and failed to win a single medal in the team event, men’s singles, men’s double, women’s singles, women’s doubles or mixed doubles.
