A two-day sledge hockey demonstration wrapped up yesterday in Ticino, Switzerland. It included a demonstration of the game in the second period break of the Hockey Club Lugano and Schlittschuh Club Bern in National League A on Friday. This was followed up by a come and try it session on Saturday at the Reseghina Ice Rink, with two Italian club sides involved with organizing it: Tori Seduti from Torino and Armata Brancaleone from Varese.

Italians taking part in this demonstration included HC Lugano player’s Brett McLean, Elvis Merzlikins, Ilkka Heikkinen, and other like Luca Dimitri Renoldi, Gregory Leperdi, Fredrik Pettersson, Vicky Mantegazza, Emanuele Parolin, Walter Lisetto, Lauria Enzo, Alessandro Andreoni, Massimo Bernardoni, Bruno Balossetti, Stillitano Santino, Daniela Colonna-Preti and Daniela Scalia.

On Facebook, the Italian national ice sledge hockey fanpage had comments indicating excitement about this development, with the idea of it being a potential start of development of the sport in Switzerland.  Currently, there is no Switzerland national sledge hockey team.
